Damn France...

RAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!11111111111one!11one

Ok, so no internet yet....8 weeks later. Son of a...

Anyways, life is going great otherwise. I'm doing the whole social life thing because I can't exactly sit around at home doing nothing, so maybe this is good for me. I have to say the ex-pat friends I've made here are absolutely awesome, we are all crazy in our own little way and it works. I highly recommend people to come out and visit Paris while I'm here, I'll show you a party time.

I've been off and on again in the gym, but it always feels good to get back. I'll keep telling everyone, olympic lifts are the only way to go. You put on muscle and cut fat, quick. Very quick. I'm also completely sold on going entirely natural with your diet, no supplements or anything. It's funny how fast I've changed my tune, but it's so much easier and you feel better this way. Milk and veggies does a body good.

I'm listening to Venetian Snares right now, a great artist to listen to when you feel like you are going to fall asleep (and don't want to).

My French is admittedly getting terrible, all my friends want to speak English now. Oh well, it happens.

Ghislain Poirier put on a good show, but totally catered to the crowd. It ended up being mostly reggae with big rap beats, reggae ain't my thang. But if you want a good DJ, Gohan opened up and he was amazing. You can download a bunch of free mixes on his myspace. Look it up.

DJ Z-Trip is playing soon, I'm stoked.

All this talk of music and I've gotten into it. In London I bought a few vinyl records and my Danish friend has a couple of turntables and mixer she lets me play around on. Beat matching is hard, but I can get some hilarious mixes. At least it's a productive hobby.

I don't know where I'll be after Paris, but I think I'm gonna be in Europe for awhile.

Euro Party!

By popular demand (i.e. mom and dad), I'm posting some photos of myself and friends from my recent Euro adventures:

In Switzerland, tired and unshaven.
My Swiss friends I stayed with. We were being hippies sitting by the river, they were dancing around.

oooooh, artsy

British Tom and his g/f Blandine, we ran into them randomly at Fountain Bleu

American Tom and British Tom, who looks awkward here? hahaha

Doin what I do best

Caecillie and myself, drivin to Dijon.

Caecillie looking oh so proud of the mountain to be climbed

Tom and Caecillie looking less enthused as we climb said mountain

Drinkin wine at a vineyard

I quickly snapped a shot of my friend Erin in London.

So there you go, some pics of my adventures so far. More to come later, peace all!

I drink your milkshake!

So sorry everyone, it's been awhile without internet at home, and it's a little awkward making a post from work. But here I go, because there is nothing to do at work.

Life has been very good recently. I had recently taken a trip to Switzerland to hang out with some friends I had met in Barcelona. Switzerland is absolutely beautiful, and I recommend it to anyone in Europe. The countryside is gorgeous and it felt very clean. It really reminded me a lot of British Columbia, in particular places like Nelson and Kimberley. My friends were this hippy/goth/raver lesbian couple, so that was absolutely hilarious to hang out with them for the weekend. We just travelled around, and I got to see Bern, Biel, and Lausanne; in addition to arriving in Geneva. This all being said, I did feel pretty old after this trip, because I just can't do the crazy party scene as if I were a teenager anymore. Everyone has to grow up someday I suppose.

This past weekend I went on a roadtrip with my fellow ex-pat friends, and we had an absolute ball of a time. My friends are amazing, I love 'em. On a mere 2 days of notice, we rented our little Renault Megane and drove down to Dijon and Lyon for 3 days of silliness and fun. The motto of the trip was "Nothing could possibly go wrong" and nothing did. All of us just kept the positivity so high, that everything worked out perfectly. Every random fun idea was done immediately. The Danish girl wanted to climb a mountain, so when we saw one (a small one), we pulled over and ran up it. I saw a vineyard (one of many, many vineyards), so we pulled over and bought wine and took pictures. We all searched for artisinal mustard in Dijon, and almost came to the point where we had to harass old people for it (because you know they would have the good stuff sitting in their basement, I just know it!). Luckily we found a good shop and got our fix of the spicy sauce.

Lyon was fun as well, we managed to have some good food and an interesting time. Nearing the end of the night we found this Danish bar due to a taxi drivers recommendation, and thought it might be interesting to go to. Well, let's just say that the French don't interpret Danish the same way the rest of the world does. By Danish, I think they mean old person's swinger club...it was really awkward. But we laughed it off and just watched the bizarre situation around us. We also went to a very French beach the next day...oh la la. Half naked old women, women breast feeding right out in the open, men running around in underwear and speedos, everyone smoking and drinking wine. It was also funny because the beach cafeteria, where I would expect they serve just hotdogs and burgers (like in North America) was actually a legitimate restaurant with full service, with what looked to be really good food. You can always find good food in France.

So that's a brief update. I'll get some pictures posted up here somehow and you can see my tanned face.
I'm off to London on Thursday, so more stories of adventure to come.
